Hey everyone! 


I hope all is going well for you! This week has been quite the experience. I have never been on my knees so much in my life. So last week was transfer week. Sister Herndon got transferred. But it was really funny because before she left she was like "Sister Davis you dont need to worry because you will get a companion that has been out for a while and knows what she is doing and it will all be good." Well when i get to the transfer meeting and they are announcing who our new companions are they announce that i am the senior companion and i will receive a junior companion. Yeah my companion has only been out for three months. One thing i am learning is how to fully rely on the Lord to lead us and keep us going. I know that the Lord is truly at the head of this work. It is His work and us missionaries are here to just be the messengers. I am learning to more fully listen to the promptings of the spirit and act one them.  He truly leads and guides us. We had an awesome experience the other day. We were in this neighborhood visiting this guy and we got done visiting and i thought we should walk down the street but i kinda ignored the thought and got in the car. As we were driving down the street i saw this lady out with her son. Then i thought we should talk to them. But i kept driving then i felt guilty that i didnt talk to her so we turned around and jumped out of the car and went over to talk to her. As we were talking to her right in the middle of my sentence she interrupted me and said "let me just tell you this. the other day when you were walking down the street my husband saw you and was so disappointed when you didnt knock on our door. Would you mind coming back when he is here to talk as well?" We were so excited! Miracles never cease out here in the mission field.

Another amazing miracle. We are teaching this 14 year old boy. The other day when we went to visit him we asked him how his Book of Mormon reading had been going? and he said it was going good. and we asked if he had prayed about it and he said yes and we were like have you gotten an answer and he said "yup sometimes when i am sitting in class i will just start to think about it and i get chills all up and down my body" holy cow what a testimony builder it was to me. If he can find out the Book of Mormon is true anyone can. All we have to do is listen to what the spirit is telling us. It is as simple as that. 



Well i love you all. I am so grateful to have such an awesome family and awesome friends. The prayers that are said are truly felt out here and i am so blessed to be here and am so blessed to have you all apart of my life. You all are in my prayers! Know that i love you so so much!! Another week in the wonderful OCM (Ohio Cincinnati Mission) :)

Wow what an amazing week. So to start off it started out a little rough. Monday and Tuesday we were having a hard time and our faith was being shaken a tad bit but that doesnt stop us. The best cure for that is to go out and knock on some doors... or go out and talk to everyone you see. But thankfully the week got better.　



Beth and Bill's Wedding

Wednesday we got to attend a wedding of this couple that have been waiting to get baptized for a long time. They are the strongest people ever!! The other sisters in our area have been teaching them. Anyway they had to wait to get married because the husband was waiting for his divorce papers to go through which was a long process and things just were not workin out but finally they got to get married on wednesday. Then on saturday they were baptized. It was such an amazing baptism because... well all baptisms are amazing but this on especially because they had waited so long and worked so hard. They had everything up against them in being baptized but by they grace and love of God it all worked out. It was AMAZING!!!　

We got our transfer call this morning and sadly Sister Herndon is leaving me. She is the most amazing companion ever. I have made a new best friend and to overcome the things we have overcome, it will be a companionship that i will never forget. She is a hard dedicated servant of God.

I have the most wonderful family in all the universe. It was so great to see everyone yesterday and hear from them. I hope all the wonderful mothers had a great mothers day yesterday. I am so grateful for all the mothers in my life. Each of you have had a tremendous impact on me and i would not be where i am today without them. I am especially grateful for my mother. She is the most amazing humble christlike person i know. I look up to her so much. She has her testimony burning brightly within her. She knows who she is and what she stands for. Her faith is unshaken and she shares her love of the gospel with everyone she contacts just from the bright smile that is always on her face. She has always supported me in everything i do. I can always count on her to be in the stands cheerin me on. I hope to one day be the mother she is. Thank you so much for all the love and support you mothers out there give me and i love you all.　

What a great opportunity it is to be a missionary today. I love this work and i love my mission. It does get hard but i know the Lord provides the way to make it so possible. I love you all and you are all in my prayers. Stay strong out there!!

Moms additional comments:

It was so good to skype with Kirsten on Mother’s Day. She is happy and felt blessed to see her family. In the past her mission president only lets the missionaries call home and she said last Sunday she was laying in bed thinking all I want is to see my family. Monday morning she received a call from the mission president and she was told that she can skype home for Mother’s Day, Kirsten said that was a direct answer to her prayers.

I asked her if we can do anything for her and her reply was pray and read the Book of Mormon. I am blessed to have her great example in my life. Thank you for all you do to love and support us.

Hello Everybody!! :)

Hey all my family and friends,

I hope all is going well back at home! Things are just great here in the great Ohio Cincinnati mission. I love Indiana. I got to experience some great moments this week.

So to start off we had a lesson with this family of five this week. It was awesome the spirit was so super strong. It was just thick in the room. The dad did have a hard time understanding. So in the end we just bore a humble testimony of the things we knew to be true. As I bore my testimony i bore it on how i know that my family will be together even after death and how i know that everyone could have that opportunity. As i finished my testimony the dad of the family looked right at me and said "will you date my son?"....uhhh awkward... good thing his son was not home. haha! And that is not what i intended him to get out of my testimony. Good thing we are meeting with them again so i can redeem myself.

Also last night we were visiting a member and i found my prince charming. They have this fabulous backyard. It is so cool. They have like three ponds and a toy train that goes around the whole thing. In the ponds they have like fishes and frogs and stuff. But anyway we saw a frog and the member asked if we would like to hold it. Of course i wanted to hold it. So he caught it for us and we got to hold it. So i decided to kiss it and POP it turned into prince charming... Just kidding. I did pretend to kiss it though;)

I am learning so much everyday being out here on a mission. There was this really amazing scripture we shared this week. It is 3 Nephi 19: It is talking about the light of Christ. We as members of the church have that light. People notice it. We are so blessed to have that Spirit in our homes and bless our lives. I know God provides a way for us to accomplish the work He has here for us and by giving us that light is one way He does it. Keep that light close. Know that it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that provides that light and happiness for each of us. I know this is the true Gospel on this earth today. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of it. I know He loves each of us and desires for us to return to him. i know each challenge we face is for our own good. I notice that more everyday. Some days are harder than other but everyday is another chance for me to learn and grow to make the next day better. I love you all and know you all are in my prayers. Have a fantastic safe week. Missionary adventures :)

My dearest family and friends, 

I hope all is going well for you back home!! This week has been quite the adventure. I will start with the funny thing that happened this week. First off we were knocking on this door and just a little back ground in this area everyone and their dog has a dog but this situation was unusual. So we knock on this door and we hear all this barking and this lady answers our door so we start small talking with her and ask her how many dogs she has... Does anyone want to guess how many dogs she had?? 10!!! She has ten dogs... yes they are all in her house... well to make it even better, we go back later in the week and her son is sitting outside with a snake! His pet snake and to make that even better he had three more in the house. I did hold the snake. It was... gross!! This last week we had two chapel tours. It was awesome! But we had the elderly couple take us there and drop us off cause we only get so many miles on the car each month. But anyway we were stranded at the church and we were praying so hard that this family would show up and they did so that was a miracle. But after that we had an hour until bible study at the church so we decided to take that as our dinner hour... so we went searching through the church trying to find some food and all that we could find was bread, eggs, and butter... so we made egg in a cup. A specialty of sister Herndon's it was delicious. It is an egg cooked in a cup in the microwave. A really amazing miracle this week. We are teaching this less actives unbaptized child and last week we extended a baptism date to them and it went awful. They told us no right off but then when we went back this last week the mom was like ya know i have been thinking about baptism and i got the program planned out. It was awesome!! Then we extended a date again and they accepted it.Wahoo!! It was fantastic!! Lastly we had branch conference this last week. and the messages were awesome. They talked a lot about how our trials are specific to us. It is so true. Each trial we each are faced with helps us grow in the way Heavenly Father needs us to. Those trials we are faced with makes us into the sons and daughter of God that He has intended us to be. I can see that more as i continue to learn to call upon Him every day!! Thank goodness for the knowledge of the gospel we have. I love each of you oh so much!!! Have a fantastic safe week!! You are in my prayers! :)

Hey everyone!!! 

This week was spectacular. First I will start off with the funny things that happened this week. I am learning the best medicine for stress is just to laugh as hard as you can. So first off... we went to an adult Easter egg hunt that one of our investigators invited us to. The funny thing about that was that in the Easter eggs were lottery tickets... so Sister Herndon and I ended up with a whole bunch of one dollar lottery tickets. I know it is not that much money but i just thought it was ironic two missionaries gabbling. Then another funny story, we are working on finding a whole bunch of people to teach which requires us to talk to everyone. So we were walking along the street and there was this guy on a riding lawn mower and i turned to Sister Herndon and smiled and walked over to the guy. Unfortunately his back was towards me so i was trying to get his attention but he couldnt hear me. Finally i got his attention but that was a rough situation. Then we were talking to this other guy and he was like "are you girls sellin somethin?" and sister Herndon replied with "No... I wish... it would be a lot easier." Haha after that i asked her if she realized what she said and she said no she didnt then we just laughed about it... sorry if these stories dont make sense or maybe they were kinda had to be there moments. Then the last funny story was we were talking to this guy and he asked what we thought would happen to all the good people who havent had the opportunity to know Jesus Christ and His gospel and sister Herndon replied with "Well we know everyone will have the opportunity to accept the gospel and today is your day you may get another chance or you may not." That was another one of those where she didnt realize what she was saying and we just had to laugh about it. 

Now for the great miracles we saw this week. So we are teaching this family. A mom and two of her daughters so far. She has a husband that we havent met yet and a son. But the first time we were there the mom just completely opened up to us and the spirit was so strong there. The relationship between the mom and the daughters reminded me a lot of the the relationship me and my mom have. The love in the room was so strong. The family seems super close just like my family. How blessed we are to be put on this earth in families to love and care for. 

The other amazing thing that happened, we were visiting a less active lady in our branch and we asked her if she would read the Book of Mormon everyday and she said she would but not this night because she was way to tired and we were like it just has to be one verse. She was like okay one verse and grabbed her Book of Mormon and randomly opened it and picked a random verse which was Alma 31:5. Read it! Holy cow it was so powerful and spoke right to her. She was even amazed at how awesome of an experience that was. We all left there just smiling with our testimonies burning that much brighter. Spending Easter away from my family has strengthened my testimony of the Savior and His atonement and His resurrection. I know that He did that so we could all live again as a family. I know this church is the one and only true church on earth today and it is such an honor to be working side by side with the Lord spreading that message. I love you all so so much and know you are all in my prayers. LOVE YOU!!!

What a week :)

Hey everyone!

I hope all is well back at home. This last week was so great. A bit of a roller coaster ride. But that is okay it just helped me realize how much Heavenly Father really is at the head of this work. I had a really neat experience this last week when i was praying. As a member of the church i sometimes forget how important it is for us to feel Gods love. I mean i guess i always knew it was important but this week i found out He will truly let you know. My dear sweet companion committed a less active member in our branch to pray that they will feel Heavenly Fathers love for them and so i decided to do that as well when i said my bedtime prayers. Oh my goodness as i prayed to feel that love before i could even get the words out of my mouth i just felt this spirit flood into my heart and i truly felt the arms of the Lord around me. It was an amazing experience. Everyone should do it. I can promise you that you will truly feel that love. I hope you all know that i love you so much and i am so grateful for your testimonies and love that you have shared with me. 

The warm weather is finally coming!! i actually got sun burnt the other day. Guess it is time to buy some sunscreen. I am so blessed to be in the area i am in. I love it here. It definately is not an easy work we are doing here but with the Lords help  i know it is so possible. How grateful i am to be doing this work. Thank you for all your love and your prayers. They are truly felt out here!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO SO MUCH!!!

Hello everybody!! :)

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope all is going well. Let me know what y'all are up to. I love hearing from you.　

Things this week have kinda been a rollercoaster. Wasn't conference so amazing? It made me a little homesick missing utah. But i love being here serving the Lord. We are super spoiled missionaries. Yesterday we got fed breakfast lunch and dinner from members and got to watch conference with them. We are so blessed. And i am still full. Oh and Sister Herndon said the funniest thing the other night. We were laying in bed talking about watching our weight and she said... "It is just diet and exercise and we will be okay, and we have got the exercise down (we get to run every morning) now we just got to work on the diet but i'd say we are doing pretty good with that because we have no food left in our home (cause we had literally almost nothing to eat)" haha i love her. We have become best friends.　

I hope all of you got a chance to watch conference. Isnt our prophet amazing? I know he is truly called of God. One of the greatest lessons i learned from this conference is to just keep going. Times do get hard but the Lord has miraculous plans for all of us. Just keep going. It was spectacular. We are all in this marvelous work together. We as members and missionaries are to lead in bringing salvation to the people around us. What a great opportunity we have to work side by side with the Lord at this great time. I loved that talk about how we are spending our "4 minutes". I keep thinking about that.　

This week has been great. The weather is so nice. If i wasnt in a skirt all the time i would be drenched everyday. It rains so much here which makes so many puddles. I love it.

We went to the Pages for the first and second and then to the Baumgardners for the third (he is our branch mission leader) and then we just went to the church for the last.

They sang teach me to walk in the light... again. haha never fails. i cry!

Jean told us that the mormon thing isnt for her but she is not getting away that easy. but it broke my heart.
